MARCH MLC - What Lack I Yet?

The Missionary Leadership Council met again on March 7, 2017.  This MLC was more for the leaders growth and development.  President Clark quoted a Joseph Smith quote that they would have, "Sudden strokes of ideas...presented unto your minds."  Our missionaries were encouraged to feel of the Spirit and share revelatory experiences as we counseled together.  President Clark then talked about D&C 35:3 asking them to replace their names, v. 3.  Behold, verily, verily, I say unto my servant _________, I have looked upon thee and thy works.  I have heard thy prayers, and prepared thee for a greater work.

The Assistants talked about the principle that we learn from the Rich Man and Jesus,   "What Lack (We) Yet?"  We learned that with God all things are possible.

An object lesson with cookies was a hit.

At the end of MLC, we had an unexpected yet welcome guest stop by.  Bro. Yap is one of ours from the past.  He was Elder Richard's Tatay (trainer).  There is quite a bond that is formed with trainer and trainee.

Time went speedily by.  Our missionaries went home to prepare for their zone training meetings back home.  Train up a missionary....
Until we meet again.

We appreciate our guard, Danilo!

"Marching In to Where the Finest Serve!" 23rd Batch

We welcome in twelve new missionaries willing and ready to serve!  They come to us from the Philippines, America and Australia.  Two of them will be staying with us for a short time until they receive their visas.  Those missionaries will go off to the Dominican Republic and Peru.  We loved getting to know them a little better before they were whisked off by their new trainer.  Our trainers are some of the best and they will assist our trainees so they have the best start possible.  Thank you for sharing your light!

D&C 88:11

And the light which shineth, which giveth you light, is through him who enlighteneth your eyes, which is the same light that quickeneth your understandings.

"Might & Zeal"

It is time for another batch to say farewell.  We allow departing missionaries to have some down time when they come in for their departure workshops.  This group wanted none of that.  They wanted to be anxiously engaged in constructive learning.  We revamped our program a bit to provide for this.  The three words that were so fitting for them are "MIGHT & ZEAL!"  Might is dedication, diligence and will-power.  Zeal means a great energy or enthusiasm.  That describes this batch of missionaries very well.  Our mission will definitely miss the dedication and energy that diminishes with their exit.  The words of a famous church song describes this beloved group:
"Then work and watch and fight and pray with all your "might and zeal,"
Push every worthy work along, put your shoulder to the wheel."
We expect them to go home and spread the might and zeal of the mission life to their homes and wards.

You will notice some senior couples in this picture.  Sadly we will say farewell to two great couples who have definitely worked with all of the their "might and zeal!"  They will leave a large charity and service deficit in our mission.  We love you Whiting's and Dansie's!
